Ferris State Football Team Honoring Oxford High School Shooting Victims

Dwfbupa26sas2sntWhen the Ferris State football team takes the field for Saturday’s NCAA Division II national semifinals, it will be honoring those lost in the Oxford High School shootings by wearing a special helmet decal.

The Bulldogs will don the Oxford “O” emblem on their helmets.

“It’s important to remember that some things are bigger than the game of football and we hope to honor those lost and affected by this terrible tragedy as best we can,” Ferris State coach Tony Annese said. “Our thoughts continue to be with all those people in the Oxford community and elsewhere that have had to deal with this horrific event.”

Top-ranked Ferris State hosts Shepherd (W.Va.) at Top Taggart Field at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The winner earns a berth to the NCAA Division II National Championship game.
