MSU’s Walker III, Four U-M Players Earn AP All-American Honors

The Associated Press released its All-American teams for the 2021 college football season on Monday.

Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson and kicker Jake Moody were both named First Team All-Americans, as was Michigan State running back Kenneth Walker III.

Hutchinson had 14 sacks and 19 tackles for loss this season and finished second in the Heisman Trophy voting. Moody was perfect on extra points this year and converted 91.7 percent of his field goal attempts.

Walker III ran for 1,636 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, averaging an impressive 6.2 yards per carry. He won the Doak Walker Award, given to the nation’s best running back, and the Walter Camp Award, given to the nation’s best player.

Michigan also had players on the All-America Second and Third Teams, with defensive end David Ojabo named a Second Team All-American and running back Hassan Haskins named a Third Team All-American.
