Scott Miller Memorial Tournament Returns to Centre Ice Arena

TRAVERSE CITY – The Scott Miller Memorial Tournament returns this season after it was canceled last year due to Covid-19 cutting the high school hockey season short.

Traverse City Central, Traverse City West and the Bay Reps are the three local teams in the tournament once again.

The tournament consists of eight teams total, as Salem, Rockford, Toledo St. John’s, Saginaw Heritage and Lowell-Caledonia join the three Traverse City area teams.

The tournament runs three days, beginning Monday at 6 p.m. and concluding with the championship game on Wednesday at 3:15 p.m. at Centre Ice.

“This tournament gets a lot of attention statewide. It’s one of the premiere holiday tournaments,” said Traverse City Central head coach Chris Givens. “We’ve stuck with the same teams pretty much for a long time because they’re quality programs year after year. It’s 12 games over three days and all 12 of them are going to be very competitive.”
