Wisconsin-Parkside Hands LSSU Its First Loss in Men’s Basketball

SAULT STE. MARIE — The Lake Superior State men’s basketball team lost its first game of the season in its conference opener against Wisconsin-Parkside, 84-62, on Thursday at home.

The Lakers only trailed by two at halftime and it was 42-40 at the 16:34 mark in the second half. But then the Rangers put together a 29-10 run during the next 10:22.

Glen Lake alum Xander Okerlund led the Lakers with 17 points. Vinson Sigmon Jr. scored 22 points for Parkside.

The Lakers will host Purdue Northwest on Saturday at 3 p.m.
