Glen Lake’s Kris Herman to be Inducted Into MHSBCA Hall of Fame

MAPLE CITY – Glen Lake head baseball coach Kris Herman will be inducted into the MHSBCA Hall of Fame.

Herman has been the head coach at Glen Lake for the last 17 years. He had been an assistant coach dating back to 1998 before taking over the program.

Under his guidance, the Lakers have posted a 392-218-6 record. The Lakers have won three Northwest Conference championships, 11 district championships, four regional championships and three appearances in the final four.

Last spring, Herman was named the Division 4 MHSBCA Coach of the Year after leading the Lakers to the state semifinals.

Herman said he was humbled to hear he is being inducted and wanted his family to know how much their support over the years has meant to him.

“It’s been monumental for me to have the support of my wife Becky and my daughters Amanda and Faith because no wife wants to feel like something else is more important than marriage. No daughter or any child wants to feel like other kids are more important to their dad than they are,” he said. “So there have been times where coaching can put a real strain on things and I’ve wanted to not do it. Even with all that, they’ve been the ones who keep encouraging me to do it.”
