Schultz, St. Ignace Hand Pickford Its First Loss

PICKFORD — St. Ignace handed Pickford its first loss in girls basketball with a 58-56 win on Wednesday, with Ally Schultz leading the way with 22 points including the game-winning layup at the buzzer.

Schultz scored eight of her team’s 13 points in the fourth quarter to lead them to the victory.

Kennedy Guild led the Panthers with 18 points on the night, while Madison Thurmes added 17.

Pickford is now 5-1 overall on the season and will look to bounce back on Friday against Rudyard on the road. St. Ignace improves to 6-2 and will play at Cheboygan on Friday.
