T.C. Central’s Opper Looks Forward to Playing Football at Cornell
TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse City Central’s Keegan Opper recently signed to continue playing football at Cornell University next year.
“I got offered by Cornell and I went out there for a visit and it’s just beautiful,” Opper said. “The campus is beautiful with waterfalls, rivers and stuff like that. It just seemed like a fit.”
Opper had plenty of success as an offensive lineman for the Trojans, earning all-conference and all-state honorable mention honors this past season. He also helped lead the Trojans to the state championship appearance last year.
He said he’s thankful for all of the experiences he had with his senior class.
“I couldn’t have done it without those guys. They’ve been practicing with me every day since sixth, seventh grade so I couldn’t have done it without them and it’s just great to see my friends and teammates get success too and get the offers that they want and that kind of stuff,” Opper said.
He is one of four seniors from this past season’s team to commit or sign with college programs.
