Central Michigan Softball Picked to Finish Seven in MAC Preseason Poll

MT. PLEASANT — The Mid-American Conference announced its Preseason Coaches Poll for softball, with Central Michigan selected to finish seventh. Miami (OH) is expected to win the MAC title.

CMU went 20-28 overall last season and 18-20 in the MAC. Nine of those wins came in their last 11 games, as they look to keep that momentum going into this season and seek their first winning record overall since 2017.

McCall Salmon enters her second full season and third season overall with CMU. They went 6-13 in the shortened season in 2020.

Central Michigan’s first game will be on Feb. 18 in the Western Kentucky Tournament. The Chippewas’ first home game will be against Ball State on March 25 at 3 p.m.
