Lake Superior State Wins Close Game Over Grand Valley

SAULT STE. MARIE — Justin Fischer scored a layup with 20 seconds left and Malek Adams added a free throw in the final three seconds to boost Lake Superior State over Grand Valley State in conference play, 75-72.

Grand Valley State built a 46-35 lead just under six minutes after halftime, but LSSU pulled it back within three near the midway point. The two went back and forth until Fischer’s key bucket with 20 seconds left.

Kemon Bassett led LSSU with 22 points, while Malek Adams added 21 points. David Wren had 12 points.

LSSU will face Davenport on Saturday, while Grand Valley State will take on Ferris State.
