MISportsNow Top Plays – Week of 2/7-2/13

The regular season is winding down for high school winter sports. There is just one week left in the hockey regular season and the wrestling postseason has already begun.

Let’s take a look at the Top 5 plays from the past week:

5.  Evart’s Emma Dyer comes up with the steal and throws it ahead to Skylar Baumgardner for the and-one opportunity. Evart opened up a 14-2 lead but ultimately lost to McBain NMC, 47-40.

4. Cheboygan’s Kaleb Blaskowski makes a nice pass to Connor Gibbons on a backdoor cut and Gibbons caps it off with the reverse lay-up in Cheboygan’s game against Rudyard on Friday. Rudyard went on to win 55-43.

3. Gaylord’s Ian Busch makes a beautiful stretch pass to Isaac Hopp and Hopp drops it off to Colton Hurst for the goal in Gaylord’s 7-2 win over Cadillac.

2. Petoskey’s Dylan Aldridge comes up with the steal and Shane Izzard makes the sweet behind-the-back pass to Jace Copeland for the lay-in at the other end in Petoskey’s 70-54 win over Alpena.

1. Petoskey’s Trevor Swiss gets the pin in the first period at the district meet in Sault Ste. Marie. The pin was Swiss’ 100th career win and helped Petoskey win the district title.
