Petoskey Wins District Title in Wrestling

SAULT STE. MARIE – Petoskey defeated Escanaba 40-39 in the district semifinal and then beat Marquette 54-30 to claim the district title in wrestling Wednesday night.

Marquette defeated Sault Ste. Marie 40-34 in the other semifinal to set up the championship match against Petoskey.

Junior Trevor Swiss recorded his 100th career win with a pin against Escanaba in the semifinal.

Petoskey will face the winner of the district hosted by Cadillac in regionals. The district meet at Cadillac is scheduled for Thursday.
