T.C. St. Francis Alum Seybert Drafted in USFL

TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse City St. Francis alum Matt Seybert will get an opportunity to play in the United States Football League after being drafted by the Pittsburgh Maulers in the 34th round.

Seybert has been pursuing a professional football career after playing tight end for Michigan State. He had 26  catches for 284 yards and three touchdowns as a senior for the Spartans in 2019.

He received opportunities to play in The Spring League and compete for a spot with the Chargers.

The USFL consists of eight teams in two divisions, and each team will play 10 games. The season starts on April 16 and ends in mid-June followed by the playoffs.
