Davenport Knocks Out Ferris State in GLIAC Quarterfinals in Men’s Hoops

BIG RAPIDS — Top-seeded Ferris State lost in the GLIAC quarterfinals against Davenport on Wednesday in men’s basketball, 91-90, with Chris Rollins hitting the one free throw with four seconds left to secure the win.

The Bulldogs trailed by two points with 32 seconds left when Dorian Aluyi hit two clutch free throws to tie the game at 90, but Rollins hit the second of two free throws to give the Panthers the lead again.

 

Walt Kelser finished with 35 points for the Bulldogs in the loss.

Ferris State is eliminated from the GLIAC Tournament and now waits to see if they will make the Division 2 NCAA Tournament and what seed they would be.

The Selection Show is set for 10:30 p.m. on NCAA.com on Sunday. There will be 64 teams in the bracket, with 23 automatic bids from conference champions. Ferris State was ranked No. 2 in their regional rankings as of Feb. 27. The NCAA breaks down what it takes to make the Division 2 Tournament on their website.
