Ferris State Men’s Basketball Makes Sixth Trip in Eight Years to NCAA Tournament

Ferris State men’s basketball earned a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Division II Tournament and will face No. 7 Findlay in the Midwest Regional Quarterfinal on Friday.

The Bulldogs (21-8) played Findlay (19-10) during the regular season, losing 86-74 back in November.

Ferris State men’s basketball has made 14 previous trips to the NCAA Tournament and this is the program’s sixth appearance in the last eight years.

After missing the tournament in 2019 and qualifying for the 2020 tournament before it was ultimately canceled, the Bulldogs are looking to make another deep tournament run.

“This is what we expect. This is why we put in the hard work for an opportunity like this and just for a chance,” head coach Andy Bronkema said. “That’s what we always say. It’s for a chance. So even though it’s our expectation, it’s our goal.”

“[We’re going to] take it one game at a time, use everything we’ve learned this season for motivation and just go from there,” senior Dorian Aluyi said. “I think our mentality and our intensity on the court will take us a long way.”

Ferris State and Findlay tip off at 2:30 p.m. on Friday in Canton, Ohio.
