Grybauskas Takes Over East Jordan Football Program
Grybauskas takes over for Greg Kitson who retired at the conclusion of the 2021 season. Kitson led the Red Devils to their first outright conference championship since 1986 and a postseason berth.
Grybauskas, who has an extensive baseball and football coaching resume, comes to East Jordan by way of Jackson Northwest where spent the previous five years coaching the Mounties.
“Through an extensive search process, we were able to bring a top-notch candidate with over 20 years experience into our program,” said East Jordan Public Schools superintendent Matt Stevenson. “I cannot wait to see the impact that he will have on our school and in our community.”
Grybauskas previously served as head coach of Central Lake’s varsity football program from 2001-2010, leading the Trojans to a 61-31 record and six playoff appearances. Following his stint at Central Lake, Grybauskas led Elkton-Pigeon-Bay Port’s varsity program from 2011-16 where he went 36-23 with three postseason bids. Grybauskas began his coaching career at Hudsonville.
“East Jordan is excited to welcome Coach Grybauskas back to northern Michigan and look forward to having him lead the Red Devil football program,” said East Jordan athletic director Phyllis Olszewski.
In addition to his football coaching responsibilities, Grybauskas will serve as teacher at the middle/high school.
