Ludington Reaches State Semifinals After Win Over Frankenmuth

CADILLAC — Ludington pulled off a 30-27 win over Frankenmuth in the Div. 2 state quarterfinals after being held scoreless in the third quarter on Tuesday in girls basketball.

The game was tied at 14 at halftime and there was only one point scored in the entire third quarter on a free throw by Frankenmuth. The Orioles scored more points in the fourth quarter than their first three to secure the victory.

They will face Detroit Edison in the state semifinals on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Breslin Center in East Lansing. It will be Ludington’s first semifinal appearance since 2005. Detroit Edison has won three state titles since 2017, including one in Div. 2 in 2019.
