Ferris State Sweeps Wayne State in Softball Doubleheader

BIG RAPIDS — Ferris State picked up its fourth win in five games with a sweep over Wayne State on Friday in softball. The Bulldogs won the first game, 3-2, and the second game, 12-0.

Big Rapids native Josie Prince drove in the game-winning run with a 2-RBI single to left field in the fifth inning in the first game to give the Bulldogs the lead.

Ferris jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead after the first inning in the second game and then exploded for nine runs in the second inning. A grand slam by Abby Mitchell capped off the scoring for the Bulldogs.

Ferris State will host Saginaw Valley State on Saturday for a doubleheader at 1 p.m. MiSportsNow will have a live stream of both games.
