Cadillac Football Coach Shawn Jackson Meets Players, Parents, Lays Out Program Expectations
CADILLAC – Following Tuesday’s announcement of Shawn Jackson as the new Cadillac football head coach, Jackson met with players and parents to lay out his expectations for the program on Thursday night.
He takes over a Cadillac program that went 24-11 in the last three seasons with three district titles and a trip to the Div. 4 state championship in 2020.
In his first meet-and-greet with the team, Jackson stressed the importance of building strong relationships.
“It was very, very enticing to me to go to a place that’s been successful, that had good coaches, that’s had a good program, and to be able to build off what they did instead of having to go in someplace and start over,” said Jackson. “It’s the fellowship with the players. It’s eating with them and having a conversation about this or that or, you know, something about life in general. Those are the things that mean the most to me.”
The Vikings are set to open up the 2022 season against Midland on Friday, August 26.
Jackson takes over for Cody Mallory, who accepted a job to be the next head coach at Spring Lake.
