Glen Lake Girls Soccer Extends Conference Win Streak to 18 as Lakers Prep for Playoffs

GLEN LAKE – Glen Lake girls soccer continues its quest for a second straight Northwest Conference title as the Lakers still hold a perfect 7-0 record in league play this season.

Glen Lake has won 18 consecutive games in the Northwest through three seasons since 2018-19.

Currently, the Lakers are riding a four-game win streak. They have scored a total of 67 goals on the year, while limiting their opponents to just 17 scores.

Glen Lake has also posted seven shutouts in 2022. Last season the Lakers went undefeated (10-0) in the Northwest Conference on their way to the title.

After a tough one-goal loss to Harbor Springs in last year’s Div. 4 district finals, the team looks to bring home the hardware for the first time since 2015.

“Every game is important. We want to keep a clean sheet. We do like to score lots of goals, but just being aggressive offensively and defensively and try to get something every game,” said Glen Lake girls soccer head coach Eric Luthardt.

“Our goal is always just take it one game at a time and just play our best. And going to districts, I mean, we definitely want to win and keep going in the tournament and I think we have that affect that we can bring into the games,” said Glen Lake junior Ruby Hogan.

Glen Lake is set to face Charlevoix in non-conference play on Friday night.
