MISportsNow Top Plays – Week of 4/24-4/30

It’s hard to believe but May is here and the regular season for high school spring sports will come to an end this month already.

While the weather continues to cause problems, this was one of the better weeks we’ve had in terms of weather that at least lends itself to playable conditions.

Let’s take a look at some of the top plays from the past week:

5. Ferris State catcher Ali Magiera blocks the pitch in the dirt and then throws from her knees to nail the runner trying to steal second base in the Bulldogs’ 3-2 win over Wayne State.

4. St. Ignace pitcher Rebecca Neff makes a diving catch to end the inning for the Saints in their 7-2 loss to Ishpeming in softball.

3. Shepherd’s Kiersten Judge places a shot into the top shelf for her third goal of the game as Shepherd beat Roscommon 8-0 in girls soccer.

2. Traverse City St. Francis centerfielder Josh Groves makes an over-the-shoulder diving catch to end the game and secure the victory for the Gladiators over Boyne City in baseball.

1. Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the last inning, Gladwin’s Connor Dee delivers a two-run walk-off home run to give the Flying Gees the win over Beal City in baseball.
