Pit Spitters Announce Roster for 2022 Season

TRAVERSE CITY – The Traverse City Pit Spitters announced their roster for the 2022 season on Thursday.

After coming off a second straight Northwoods League Championship, the team returns nine players from last year’s squad.

Standout pitchers Aren Gustafson and Jeremy Neff, along with infielders Camden Trafficante and outfielder Tre Truitt III, are just a few names to highlight the roster.

21 pitchers, five catchers, eight infielders and five outfielders make up the current roster.

As the summer goes on, more full-time contract players will join the team in Traverse City.

Pit Spitters manager Josh Rebandt said he is excited to coach a group that features plenty of new faces and that the fans have a lot to look forward to this season.

“I’m really excited. Between the guys positionally that are returning and then the pitching staff, just having some good quality character guys, good leaders in the clubhouse. The one thing that I would say is maybe a little bit different this year is speed. I think it’s going to be the fastest team that we’ve had and that just plays right into the aggressive style that we have. And I think fans have really enjoyed watching that part of the game,” said Rebandt.

The Pit Spitters officially open the 2022 season on the road against the Battle Creek Battle Jacks on Monday, May 30 at 6:35 p.m.

The home opener at Turtle Creek Stadium is scheduled for Friday, June 3 at 7:05 p.m. against Battle Creek.
