Beal City Tops Whitmore Lake in Semifinal, Cruises to State Championship

EAST LANSING — Beal City scored a run in all six innings, including nine in the final three frames, to defeat Whitmore Lake on Thursday in the Division 4 state semifinal, 14-4.

The Aggies found themselves in a 2-0 deficit after the top of the first, but they scored four runs in the first two innings to take a lead.

Whitmore Lake tied it up at four with two more runs in the third, but after that, Beal City never looked back.  They scored 14 runs on 17 hits. Kaiden Andrews and Hunter Miles both had three runs batted in, including Miles recording a double and triple.

The Aggies advance to the Division 4 state championship where they will meet the winner of Rudyard and Riverview Gabriel Richard on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Beal City last won a title in 2018.
