Harbor Springs Beats McBain NMC 3-0 to Advance to Girls Soccer Regional Championship

CADILLAC – Harbor Springs ended McBain NMC’s undefeated season with a 3-0 shutout win in Tuesday’s Div. 4 regional semifinal girls soccer game in Cadillac.

The Rams took a 1-0 lead at halftime thanks to a goal from Ella Morrow.

“We just try to get a goal early on,” said senior Jillian Wagner. “And then we know once we do that, we just keep going from there and get more energetic and come together.”

McKenzie Bowman and Grace Thorpe both scored in the second half to help Harbor Springs pull away and punch its ticket to the regional title game.

“Knowing that this team hasn’t lost, we knew there was going to be some obstacles ahead,” Harbor Springs head coach Aaron Riley said. “We just wanted to come out with the energy level that we came out with in the district final, and as a result, we matched their energy and we were able to put some goals in.”

Harbor Springs is now 14-7-1 this season.

McBain NMC finishes the season with a record of 16-1-1. The Comets had allowed just four goals all season before giving up the three goals to the Rams on Tuesday.
