Harbor Springs’ Season Ends in Shootout Loss to North Muskegon in D4 Girls Soccer Regional Finals

CADILLAC – After two overtime periods and a penalty shootout, Harbor Springs’ historic season came to an end in the Div. 4 girls soccer regional championship, falling 3-2 to the defending state champions in North Muskegon on Thursday night.

The Rams took the early lead in the regional title game courtesy of Grace Thorpe’s goal. Thorpe would later score another in regulation, marking the only two scores for the Rams.

After the Norsemen tied it up 2-2 late in the second, the game went into two overtimes and eventually a shootout.

North Muskegon’s Emily Judd sealed the victory with the final PK goal.

Up until Thursday night, the Rams had not let their opponents score a single goal the entire postseason.

Harbor Springs caps off an incredible run with their first back-to-back district title in more than a decade. The Rams finish the season 14-8-1 overall.

North Muskegon advances to their fourth straight state semifinals to face the winner of Kalamazoo Christian  and St. Joseph Our Lady of the Lake Catholic.
