Sarah White Wins 2022 Michigan Open, Finishes Final Round One Stroke Shy of Course Record

THOMPSONVILLE – Sarah White is the 2022 Michigan Women’s Open Champion after shooting a nine-under final round, one stroke shy of the course record.

White, a Caledonia native, sunk eight birdies and an eagle and had just one bogey on her round to come away with a four-stroke victory at -6 for the tournament.

“At the beginning of the day, I was really just going to go out and see how many birdies I could make. I knew if I played the way I knew I could I’d have a shot,” White said afterward. “I did not expect to be going out and shooting 9-under. But sometimes unexpected things happen in a good way and that’s what happened today.”

White’s brother, Brett White, won the 2020 Michigan Men’s Open, making them the first sibling duo to each win a Michigan Open championship.

The Michigan Women’s Open had a different leader after every round of the tournament this year.
