Traverse City’s Anci Dy Defeats Anika Dy for Michigan Women’s Amateur Title

ROCHESTER — Traverse City’s Anika Dy and Anci Dy had the unique experience of golfing against each other in the final match of the 106th Michigan Women’s Amateur Championship, with the younger sister Anci Dy winning the title in 21 holes.

Both sisters won their semifinal matches earlier in the day, with Anika defeating Northville’s Megha Vallabheneni 3 and 2. Anci defeated West Bloomfield’s Mikaela Schulz in 20 holes.

Anika and Anci Dy both competed in high school golf at Traverse City West. Anika now competes at the University of Michigan, while Anci is at the University of Indianapolis.
