CLARE — The Clare 12U Little League softball team will go to Indiana to compete in the Little League Regionals.
The team heads on the road after becoming Michigan Little League State Champions this past week, beating St. Clair and Grosse Pointe.
“When I pitched the last strike I just like couldn’t believe it,” said Clare pitcher Maddison Fritz.
“I was crying and it was probably one of the best moments for my softball career,” said shortstop Hadley Louch.
The girls and coaches look forward to representing Clare in the big tournament.
“We are a super small town and we played a lot of you know those bigger cities,” said Clare head coach Jared Renner. “It’s you versus the rest of the state.”
The team will play against Missouri on Monday. It can be watched on ESPN+ at 4 p.m.
