Pit Spitters Use Five-Run Eighth Inning to Beat Battle Jacks 8-3

TRAVERSE CITY – The Pit Spitters and Battle Jacks were tied 3-3 heading into the bottom of the eighth inning on Tuesday night, but the Pit Spitters scored five runs in the frame to come away with the 8-3 win.

Brennen Dorighi went 1-for-3 with 2 RBI and Hunter Tabb went 1-for-4 with 2 RBI to lead the way for the Pit Spitters.

Traverse City starter Adam Christopher went six innings and gave up three runs on five hits. Derek Clark threw three scoreless innings in relief.

The win improves the Pit Spitters record to 5-2 in the second half of the season and 23-20 overall.

The Pit Spitters and Battle Jacks will play again on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.
