White Leads Tournament of Champions Entering Final Round

BOYNE FALLS — Brett White built onto his lead at the Tournament of Champions on Tuesday by recording a 5-under in the second round. He holds a 3-stroke lead entering the final round of the tournament.

White had a stellar back nine, with six birdies and zero bogeys.

“I knew how tricky the front nine was, but when there’s no wind and the ball’s going where you’re looking, it was nice,” White said. “I hit a lot close, took advantage of the par 5s, and then was able to make a couple of putts as well. But yeah, not looking too far ahead, I know that I’ve got some guys on my tail.”

Beau Breault also had a big day on Tuesday, with a 5-under to move him up to second place at 9-under. Bradley Smithson dropped down to third place at 8-under, tied with Barrett Kelpin, who recorded an 8-under round on Tuesday.

White will tee off with Breault and Smithson on Wednesday at 9:40 a.m.
