Brethren Football Hopes Speed Sparks Offense Again in 2022

BRETHREN – It was a tale of two halves for the Brethren football team in 2021. The Bobcats lost their first four games of the season before winning four of their last five.

They’re hoping to carry that end-of-season momentum into this fall, especially on offense. In their four wins, the Bobcats averaged 52 points per game.

With a fast team again this year, Brethren is relying on that speed to put crooked numbers on the scoreboard once again.

“We’re definitely going to use our speed as much as possible but we’re able to also use our strength and our power. We have a couple big lineman that we’re able to definitely take advantage of,” said head coach JJ Randall.

The Bobcats have enough players for a JV team this fall, something that’s always been important to Randall.

“We have 14-15 [kids] on varsity and 12 on JV. So decent numbers and our goal is always to have a JV program.”
