Cadillac Ready to Continue Success Under New Head Coach
CADILLAC — The Cadillac football team has experienced great runs over the last three years, winning three district titles and making a state championship appearance in 2020. The Vikings hope to keep that going under a new head coach.
Shawn Jackson takes over for Cody Mallory, who accepted a job at Spring Lake. In the first week of practice, the players are starting to get used to his style of play.
“People are willing to learn like really willing to commit themselves to the new coach, the new offense, everything that has changed with him, like everyone’s been willing to,” Cadillac senior Derek Rood said. “Everyone has been fully committed from the day he got here.”
“I love him. I think we all do. He came in and was ready to work,” Cadillac senior Kaleb McKinley said. “It wasn’t really, ‘Let me introduce myself.’ It was, ‘This is how we are going to do things.’ He is ready to go. He’s got us ready to go, moving forward to learn everything we need to learn.
The Vikings’ first game of the season will be on the road against Midland.
