Cedarville-DeTour ‘Hungry’ After Setback-Filled 2021 Season

CEDARVILLE/DETOUR VILLAGE – The Cedarville-DeTour Islanders say they’re hungry this fall after a challenging 2021 season.

The Islanders dealt with a Covid-19 pause in the middle of the season and finished with a 2-6 record in 2021.

While the team is still dealing with a low number of players, the Islanders have a strong senior class returning. The seniors said they’re hungry to prove that they’re better than their 2021 record indicated.

“We’re hungry and ready to win,” said senior Michael Perkins. “Last year’s record, [the] record didn’t do us justice. It’s going to do us justice this year.”

“I’ll take a senior-lead team anytime,” said head coach Scott Barr. “They’re focused, ready to go and they know every day is the last.”

Barr is in his 15th season as the head coach.

The Islanders start the season on Aug. 26th against Superior Central.
