Grant Starts First Season Under Jason Hill

GRANT – The Grant Tigers made the playoffs in 2021 despite finishing with a 4-5 record in the regular season.

This season, the Tigers have a new head coach in Jason Hill and are looking to not only make the playoffs once again, but move on to deeper rounds once they get there.

Hill played at Lowell and is entering his 15th season coaching football. He takes over for Darren Geraghty, who left to take the head job at Allendale.

Hill said the Tigers are a fast team this year and he’s hoping to build his offense to get the most out of that speed.

“We definitely have a lot of team speed and athleticism,” Hill said. “Obviously, this community really prides themselves on being tough and having that blue collar mentality. So definitely, the kids portray that same thing.”

“He has a lot of energy and he really motivates us everyday to get better,” said senior Zak Barnhart. “The five-out [offense], I think the throwing it all over the field — I don’t think everybody can cover us especially with our speed and stuff.”

Grant has made the playoffs in five of the past six seasons. The Tigers start their season on Aug. 26th against Comstock Park.
