Manton Seeks Improvement in Football in 2022
MANTON — Manton just missed out on having a winning record last season in football, ending the year at 4-5. That marked the seventh straight season that they have had a losing record.
This year, head coach Eric Salani has added some new coaches and a strength and conditioning component to help his team improve and get to another level this season.
Before making the playoffs in 2020 at 1-6, the Rangers hadn’t been since 2014. Salani hopes they can take that next step this year.
“We are very young, and we have good size. We have great attitude. We don’t have a lot of numbers, but we’ll condition while we are in practice,” Salani said. “We’re going to bounce back. The things we are going to focus on (are) just the effort, focus, and toughness aspect of things, and we are going to get after some folks.”
Manton’s first game of the season will be against Hesperia, a team they beat by 20 points last year.
