NASCAR’s Brad Keselowski Visits Camp Grayling

GRAYLING – NASCAR is making its way to Michigan this weekend with the running of the Firekeepers 400 at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday.

It’s a homecoming of sorts for Michigan native and NASCAR driver and owner Brad Keselowski.

Keselowski accepted an invitation Friday to visit the troops at Camp Grayling preparing for training operation ‘Exercise Northern Strike.’

Keselowski said he tries to visit at least one military base each year during his travels for the NASCAR Cup Series, but this was the first time he visited a base in his home state.

“I got to engage with them and say hello, thank them for what they’re doing,” Keselowski said. “Then I even joined them in training with a little bit of practice on the ‘Ma-Deuce,’ the M-2, that was great, and I even got to shoot the MK-19, which is a little grenade launcher. So, all things that I feel like I’m living my 8-year-old boy dream. We got to blow some things up and shake some hands and make some people happy, and it’s been quite a day.”

Keselowski is a native of Rochester Hills, Mich.
