The Up North Cork Dorks Take Over the Pit Spitters Friday Night

TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City Pit Spitters are paying homage to Northern Michigan’s wine industry by temporarily changing their name to the Up North Cork Dorks. This change is happening during the team’s home stand on Friday.

“We were able to partner with Bonobo Winery for a strong local partner to kind of bring this brand to life,” said Director of Sales Sam Connell.

The adopted name can be found on jerseys, hats, shirts, and wine corks (of course). Merchandise has been selling since this spring and according to the Pit Spitters, apparel has already been sold to 35 states and three countries.

The game starts at 7:05 p.m. and has a post-game fireworks show.
