MT. PLEASANT – The Central Michigan volleyball team beat Eastern Michigan in straight sets on Wednesday night.
The win improves the Chippewas record to 12-8 and 5-4 in the MAC. They are tied for fourth place in the MAC West Division with Western Michigan.
Mallory Hernandez led the Chippewas with 12 kills. Claire Ammeraal led the team in aces (2), digs (12) and assists (29).
Maddie Whitfield led the team in blocks with five.
It was the first of three straight home matches for CMU. The Chippewas will take on Miami (Ohio) on Friday and Saturday night.
