Elk Rapids Wins Third Consecutive Regional Title in Boys Soccer

CLARE – The Elk Rapids Elks claimed their third consecutive Regional Championship with a 1-0 win over Alma on Thursday night.

Spencer Ball scored the game-winning goal just over 12 minutes into the second half off of a corner kick that created a frenzy of activity in front of the Panther net.

Koa West recorded the shutout victory in net for the Elks, making a key save late in the second half to preserve the victory.

With the win, the Elks advance to the Division 3 State Semifinals on Wednesday, November 2nd vs. Holland Christian at Cedar Springs High School.  These two teams met back in late August, with Holland Christian beating the Elks 3-2 in Elk Rapids.
