Ludington Finishes Unbeaten in Conference With 3-0 Win Over Shelby

SHELBY – The Ludington Orioles beat the Shelby Tigers 3-0 in boys soccer Wednesday night to finish the season with a perfect 10-0 record in conference.

Parker Wendt, Spencer Holmes and Steven Stidham scored the goals for the Orioles.

Spencer Holmes, Connor Wendt and Nate Wagner each added one assist each. Connor Rudzki put up his 11th shoutout of the season in net.

This is the Orioles’ 13th consecutive win and improves their record to 18-1-1 on the season. Ludington is ranked 13th in Div. 2 in the latest MIHSSCA State Rankings.

The loss snaps an eight-game winning streak for Shelby. The Tigers fall to 11-9 on the season. They’ll open district play against Fremont on Oct. 13 at 6 p.m.

Ludington has a first round bye in the districts and will face the winner of Allendale and Muskegon Reeths-Puffer.
