Sault Ste. Marie’s Kenzie Bell Signs With Northwood for Basketball

SAULT STE. MARIE – Sault Ste. Marie senior Kenzie Bell signed her National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Northwood University.

Bell has played on varsity since her sophomore season and helped lead the Blue Devils to district titles each of the past two seasons.

She’s the second Sault Ste. Marie player to sign their NLI in the past month after fellow senior Claire Erickson signed with Ferris State.

Bell said she knew Northwood would be a great fit from the first time she visited the campus.

“I first went on my visit in February, and I thought that it was beautiful,” said Bell. “Then I went and I stayed with the team in June and it was so fun so a few days after I committed.”

Bell added that she wouldn’t be the player she is today without her teammates and coaches at Sault Ste. Marie.

“I’ve been playing with these [Sault High] girls since third grade so they’ve gotten me to where I am today. And both of the coaches are amazing so I wouldn’t be the player I am without them.”

Bell and the Blue Devils will tip off her senior season on Dec. 6th against Marquette.
