The Irish Rebuilt a Playoff Contending Volleyball Team

MOUNT PLEASANT – Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart made it to the final four in 2021 with eight vital seniors. The Irish assumed that 2022 would strictly be a rebuild year, but mid-season the team started to click and they are now heading to the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

“We’ve grown tremendously and it’s been really great to see,” said Sacred Heart senior Angel Brown. “Everyone’s like, ‘Oh, you lost a 8-to-9 seniors, how are you going to fill those shoes?’ I think this team has done that. We’ve filled all the shoes that need to be filled and we’re right where we need to be and where we want to be.”

“They really found their own identity and I’m proud of them for that,” said Sacred Heart head coach Krista Davis. “They knew that they had a lot of work to do.”

The Irish will take on the Leland Comets at Buckley High School Tuesday at 7 p.m.
