Cadillac Honors Veterans on Memorial Day

Parade goers lined the streets of Cadillac this morning to honor the sacrifices the brave men and women of the military have made to protect and defend the United States of America.

The Cadillac Area Honor Guard, local emergency responders and many other community groups and businesses took part in the Memorial Day Parade held downtown in Cadillac.

The event started on Harris Street and ended at Stadium. Parade goers said it’s important to honor the sacrifices of those who died while serving this country.

“It’s very important to me because I have my father was in World War Two and a brother that was in the Vietnam War. And it’s a day to commemorate them and their service and God bless America,” one of the people at the parade said.

The Memorial Day Service which is typically held after the parade was cancelled this year because of the construction happening at Stadium. The service will be back next year.
