Nessel compares the possible suit and previous lawsuits against opioid distributors, PFAS manufacturers and tobacco companies.
The plan includes over $100 million for a state public safety fund and over $500 million for school meals and student safety.
“Our job as policymakers and frankly, as Americans, is to ensure that our elections are free, fair and accessible to everyone,” said Sen. Darrin Camilleri, D-Trenton.
“Working together, we can combat HPAI and reduce the long term impacts on our dynamic food and agriculture industry," said Tim Boring, director of MDARD.
“Is it happening before fall? No, that’s my gut feeling,” said Rep. John Roth.
The legislation would set the speed limit at 10 miles per hour in the downtown area and 15 miles per hour on the surrounding roadway.
Lee Chatfield had his bond set at $100,000, while Stephanie Chatfield had her bond set at $50,000.
The district serves around 8,500 students, 1,300 of which have disabilities and use special education services.
If approved, the millage would not increase tax rates from current levels.
Citizens for Local Choice, or CLC, received $100,000 from nonprofits not required to report their donors.
The funding would go towards renovating locker room facilities, replacing deteriorating doors and years-old carpet in the library and corridors.
The task force suggests three debates to be held in Metro Detroit, Grand Rapids and Traverse City.
The House has been deadlocked with 54 Democrats and 54 Republicans since November.
“They have had plans to go to Kentucky for a number of months, long before the charges were issued in this case,” Lee Chatfield's lawyer said.
The plan is part of the school’s effort to keep students safe, warm and dry, according to superintendent Elizabeth Fairbanks.
